New Safety Standards Begin As Of Today
If passengers live in a tier 3 area, they should avoid travelling to tier 1 or tier 2 areas where possible.
Passengers who live in a tier 1, tier 2 or tier 3 area cannot form a Christmas bubble with anyone who lives in a tier 4 area.
If passengers live in a tier 4 area, they must not travel within or leave a tier 4 area to see others over Christmas or on Christmas Day (unless for work, education or other legally permitted reasons, including visiting those in their support bubble or childcare bubble). They cannot leave a tier 4 area to join a Christmas bubble in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
If passengers plan to travel to Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland to form a Christmas bubble, they must follow the rules of that country and should check guidance from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland before travelling.
